They electric do-dads are neat, but in my experience that's always second to the overall bike itself, and so far I am impressed. Still, with all that it's a pretty good exercise bike that offers a great workout and plenty of resistance. The angle is also a bit odd- not terrible, but its a little too forward leaning for what I'm used to, (tiny apartment, tiny legs). The bike itself is pretty big, with a rear support that extends pretty far outward (more than perhaps it should- this matters in my tiny apartment where space is at a premium. Other than that, it went pretty smoothly with easy to understand instructions. Connecting the main frame to the supports was a bit of a chore for one person, and I would recommend two people on that if possible, but I got it done. It was actually pretty easy to put together. But if you need anything further, look elsewhere.įirst of all, when this Fitness Reality X-Class Bike appeared on my doorstep, it was pretty dang heavy in the box, and I was a little intimidated about putting it together. If all you want is a basic sturdy air bike, this fits the bill. There's also no good way to put a book or tablet in a readable position or in a way that it doesn't obstruct the entire display. It is small, positioned at a terrible viewing angle of only 18 degrees elevated from horizontal, and hard to read.

It has a comfortable multi-position handle grip which again is adjustable horizontally and vertically.Ä«ecause it is a simple air resistance bike, there is no tension adjustment- the only way you adjust your workout is to pedal faster or slower.Ä«ecause it is air resistance, it is also rather loud- I clocked it at 75db pedaling at high speed.Ä«ut worst of all is its display.

The seat is comfortable and is both vertically and horizontally adjustable. I was impressed with the sturdy build of this exercise bike, it's very solid and looks like it is built to last. The company said i have to buy a new computer for about $25 which I haven't gotten around to - don't relish the thought of uninstalling the old one and installing the new one and then how long woud it last? I changed the batteries and it would work but only for a few days. I can still set the levels and set a timer for a half an hour but i miss seeing the other stuff. I still like the bike but it doesn't tell me mileage or heart rate or speed etc. Update: Disappointed! After 6 months or so the computer stopped working. That being said, my short term view of the bike is favorable. I have no experience with this company's customer service and will report back here if I find it to be good or bad.
FITNESS REALITY X CLASS AMAZON UPDATE
I haven't had this bike long enough to comment on its durability but will make an update to this review if it turns out to be above or below average. I don't recall a quick adjust option to increase or decrease the resistance/difficulty of the bike. Personally, I think the display/console is a little hard to read especially when it alternates between the options (cal, speed and rpm) but you can set it on just one. I think it is a little noisy but probably not more so than someone running on a treadmill. The spokes of the wheel are paddles which create resistance and function like a fan. This one seems a little different than the gym models I have used. I've used stationary bikes like this one for spin class at the gym in the past. The bike comes with all the tools needed for set up but I would recommend a very small phillips head screwdriver for the back of the display/console when replacing batteries. It took me about an hour and a half to 2 hours to unpack and set up the bike at a leisurely pace and I am not super mechanically inclined. The number of parts may look a little intimidating but it sets up easily. When unpacking, make sure to inspect the Styrofoam for all the parts/tools and save a little Styrofoam for assembly. I think a fair number of people could slide the package across the floor to the spot they want it by themselves but going up or down stairs would probably require help Obviously this is highly dependent on the individual and the layout of the location to be set up. It came in a rectangular box that listed its gross weight of 116.5 pounds and dimensions of 51.4 x 10.4 x 33.8 inches. I received the Fitness Reality X-Class 9000 bike recently and am very pleased with it.
